At Borderllamas we have a number of accompanied llama treks which will enable people of all ages to relax and enjoy an unforgettable experience as they gently stroll through our fields or local woods in the company of these fascinating animals.

Kids llama Experience and MiniTrek  (1/4 mile)

The kids llama experience and MiniTrek is ideal opportunity for young children to get close and personal with their very own llama, learn some basic llama facts about these fascinating animals and then enjoy the experience of leading him on a short trek around a nice flat field. This is a 2 hour activity and involves: • Meet, Greet and learn about llamas • Halter, Brush & Feed the llamas • Mini Trek with your own llama • Brush & Treat the llamas • Lunch (Optional extra*) During meet and greet we explain all about llamas and how they have developed over the years, their uses then and now, physical characteristics etc.  The level and depth of information provided is adapted to the age of the children attending. The minimum age for this activity is 6 years. *Lunch (Optional Extra : add 1 - 1 ½ hour to visit), a lovely chicken salad with fresh bread, choice of non-alcoholic soft drinks, tea and coffee. Prices: Kids llama Experience and MiniTrek = 20 Euros per child & minimum of 2 children Lunch: 12 Euros per adult and 10 Euros per child.

Adult Llama Experience and MiniTrek (½ mile)

The Adult llama experience and MiniTrek is ideal for those people who wish to get close and personal with their very own llama and enjoy leading him on a short trek around both flat and hilly fields but do not want to walk for hours on end.  This is a 2 hour activity and involves: • Meet & Greet the llamas, • Halter, Brush & Feed the llamas • Mini Trek with your own llama • Brush & Treat the llamas • Lunch (Optional extra*) During meet and greet we explain all about llamas and how they have developed over the years, their uses then and now, physical characteristics etc.  *Lunch:  (Optional Extra : add 1 - 1 ½ hour to visit) a lovely chicken salad with fresh bread, choice of non-alcoholic soft drinks, tea and coffee. Prices:   Adult llama Experience and MiniTrek = 20 Euros per Adult  & minimum of 2 adults Lunch: 12 Euros per adult

Morning or Afternoon Treks (6kms - 3.7 miles)

Experience the sights and sounds of the French countryside as you unwind on a 6km (3.7 miles) trek at a leisurely pace with your very own llama.  Those booking a Morning Trek can also book a lunch* which will be waiting for them on their return from the trek. The walk is not arduous and covers mainly flat ground and so is suitable for both ardent  and inexperienced walkers.  The trek should last approximately 3 hours at a casual walking pace. The morning trek can be booked all year round and commences at 0930. The Afternoon Trek can only be booked between October and May due to high summer temperatures in the region making it unsuitable for trekking. A minimum of 2 persons and 2 llamas must undertake each trek. * Lunch (Optional Extra : add 1 - 1 ½ hour to visit), a lovely chicken salad with fresh bread, choice of non-alcoholic soft drinks, tea and coffee. Price:  35 Euros per person with a llama, 20 Euros for each extra person sharing a llama. Lunch: 12 Euros per adult and 10 Euros per child. Payment A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your trek.  All outstanding monies are to be paid by cash on arrival at the farm.  Both Sterling or Euros are accepted. Sorry but we do not accept card payments. In the event that you fail to show up on the day and at the correct time agreed for the trek, your deposit will be forfeit. Refunds A full refund will be made if you provide us with notification to cancel your course via e- mail at least 14 days in advance of the date the course is due to commence. A full refund of your deposit will be made if we have to cancel your course.  Dress: People are reminded to wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the time of year when the trek will take place.
